Live Visuals

For my live sets, I use Resolume or Modul8 as well as live feed from cameras filming the gigs.

For the set I did with the Sisters, I thought that Horror B Movies visuals would be quite suited to their music.
Here is a little extract:

With Homelife, I had total freedom and all sets were improvised, mixing some animation sequences with the live feed camera set up above my hands drawing and placing various props (tin toys, marbles, playing cards, flicker books…) on a mini-stage. Snails have also been known to be used (but with ho harm done, and always replaced in nature after the shows. They loved it!) . I also dressed the stage up with lights and other props, produced some life size characters cardboard paintings which were placed on stage…: fun!

Like for the show at Brighton’s Komedia, I also use Modul8 and a midi keyboard, animating live the sequences I make with After Effects.
Some videos require Quicktime.

The show “Rootz of Emotion” was a musical experience featuring Michelle “Ebere” Udogu, investigating journeys, ancestry and the power of the Orishas (Afro Brasilian and Cuban deities) through many musical genres and my live visuals. It featured a 13 piece live band, scratch DJ Code Red, Cuban Bata Orisha percussions fused with Hip Hop, Dancehall (MC Lemki) and Spoken word (Chris Jam).

I created After Effects animated sequences from existing archive footage, and from my own animations. Each song represents an orisha and has a respective sequence which I mixed live during the show.
