I have started organising cultural events and workshops, in order to give emergent artists -like myself- a platform to be heard and seen, and also to bring people together through creativity.

Sketch City Marseille

As a follow-up to organising the cultural event Soopa Sakana Sonora (see below), I am collaborating with the nice folks of Sketch City to represent them in Marseille. If you are an artist (visual and music) interested in participating, you are welcome to contact me!!!

I organised the 1 day and 1 night event Soopa Sakana Sonora, in Salvador da Bahia (Brasil). By day, I created an environment for emergent visual artists to show their talent and techniques live. The space was open to the public, so everyone could participate: the tables and walls were covered with paper which was later taken down to the exhibition space.

By night, I had invited different bands and musicians to play during 7 hours: the Sound System Ministereo Publico (Roots Reggae, Dancehall, Dubstep, Jungle), Anitchie (international Afrobeat band), Dubstereo (experimental live dub band), DJ Mascotto and DJ Bassick (Drum n Bass), DJ Mario 77 and DJ Mangaio (Brazilian MPB and underground music).
VJ Guga Calazans was providing live visuals of imagery of the everyday life in Salvador.
There was also the circus Fabric artist Carine Gomes; afro dancers; an art space with: an exhibition of the works produced during the day, customised tee-shirts by Afrodelic, Masai jewellery by the collective Mama Luta; traditional Bahian food; vegan food from the collective Rango Vegan; face painting by theatre artist Mancaia.
All profits were given to OPA (a permaculture and arts NGO) and an orphanage.

As part of my role as a co-ordinator of the cultural space “Arte Naif“, I organised a customisation workshop with different artists and designers in order to decorate benches…
